For just a fun little experimental project I decided to embroider a photo of my hand. I printed the photo from my home printer onto a piece of white cotton fabric. If you are interested in trying to print onto fabric from your home printer you can check out my post about it HERE.
I picked some colors of thread to try to match the colors in the photo. I began making small stitches to cover the corresponding colors on the photo. They were not a perfect match but I don’t think, in the end, it really matters. The background photo color shows through the stitches and it blends together visually. I really paid no attention to order as far as light and dark were concerned.
This was such a fun experiment! It really helped for practicing color palette choices, blending, stitch direction, and shading.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hope this inspires you to not take things so seriously and to let loose and experiment! It is so satisfying to not care about the outcome and just enjoy the journey!
Warmly,
Pam
