For this week’s portrait I picked a favorite comedian whose humor is universally appealing. He jokes about being lazy (He tours year round hustling his comedy and often bringing his 5 children.) He jokes about being overweight and not that bright (In reality he was a college football player and business major.) He is self deprecating and humble (He started out in business and made a brave career change to chase his dreams and is killin it!!!!) Oh and did I forget to mention he is an accomplished author and actor too? For all these reasons, I really admire this guy! He is an inspiration and my whole family enjoys his comedy…..He’s none other than JIM GAFFIGAN.
My next step in the process is to pick out a color palette. I usually pick out some initial colors and then it evolves as I am stitching and noticing new details and colors.
I took this picture with my phone camera. It’s amazing how different the threads look in different lighting. It also warps the perspective.
And finished! I am thinking of transferring the image onto a dark fabric to really make him ‘pop’ but overall pleased with the end result:)
It’s been a short busy week around here. Several inches of an October snow and a week long forecast of under 30 degree weather. Time for soup, chocolate chip cookie making, and lots more stitching!
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are warm and cozy wherever you are!
